XOTHERMIC INC developed an oxygen burner configuration that produces a truly adjustable flame length and luminosity. The burners stated rating is the mid-range of the burner or the nominal firing rate. These burners typically have a turndown of 4:1. At the nominal rating the burner has the greatest flame adjustment. This is achieved by opening or closing one or more valves directing the oxygen to different openings. Typically there is only two. The primary oxygen and secondary oxygen streams. The valving either adds to or limits the flow to these two streams thus changing the momentum of the gas and the flame shape. This change to flame configuration is at the same firing rate.
